The (Un)Dead Media Lab

The (Un)Dead Media Lab (UML) is a retrocomputing, obsolete technology, and media preservation lab focused on preserving and making accessible information and communication technologies for the purposes of experimentation and creative reuse. Emphasizing tactile interactions with older computers, audiovisual hardware, and their related formats the UML invites students, scholars, and communities to interface with historical media through approximating their original settings. The UML through these encounters allows patrons to better understand past and contemporary platform dependencies, while also imagining new ways of making and doing media in the past, present and future. For more information, or to schedule a research or teaching visit, contact Skeuomorph Press.
